Cougs,
Thought you'd like to know that Hallie Smith sent a reply to our Reunion Invitation. The note from Ms. Smith reads as follows:

Reunion Treasurer,

I don't know how my name came to be included in the list of high school teachers, but it did, and now I have an invitation to the reunion, and it'sreally an honor for a sixth grade teacher, and to the person who included my name I say, "Thank You!"

I wish I could attend - so many I would like to see - so many former sixth graders I would love to see and greet, but it just isn't possible - so with sincere thanks - love and caring.

Hallie Smith

If you'd like to contact her, I'm sure she would be thrilled. Her address is:

Ms. Hallie Smith
4949 Ogletown Stanton Road
Newark, DE. 19713-2068

Thanks,
Linda Londino (Gaylor), '65

Just read the email with the news of Hallie Smith's passing.

She was an incredible teacher, touching so many lives. Ever since I had her, in the sixth grade, I wanted to become a teacher. It was because of her and her love for children that I'm teaching today. I wonder how many others were
influenced by her?

Hallie touched our lives in such a sweet, loving, accepting gracious manner. She always seemed to know those special words to say. We shared time with her in Pittsburgh and in Florida. What a wonderful cook she was and what a comfortable lady with whom to spend time. We celebrate her spiritual flight. What a special spirit of light Hallie will always be.

Hallie Smith was a wonderful role model for me and so many of her other students throughout the years. I will never forget the encouragement she gave me even when I was in college studying to become a teacher. If it weren't for her I wouldn't have dedicated my life to teaching and touching the lives of so many children just as she touched mine.

She taught us all well and was a friend to all. I was lucky to have her as a teacher twice. Her kindness and love will never be forgotten.

Hallie was a member of the Letz-B Sunday School class at Crafton United Methodist Chruch. Helen S. Lynch was the teacher over 50 years. Even after mother moved to Decatur GA to be near family she retained her interest in all Letz-B's. Hallie has had a good long life. We rejoice in her graduation to Eternal Life.

May found memories of life on earth embrace Hallie in heaven just as she embraced so many of us on earth. A loving teacher, Crafton neighbor and friend of our family we think of her often.
